Many professional institutions and graduate programs around the world require the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) as part of their admissions process. Additionally, several scholarships and fellowships also consider GRE scores as a key eligibility criterion.
The GRE evaluates three core skill areas:
Analytical Writing
Verbal Reasoning
Quantitative Reasoning
These skills are developed over an extended period of academic study and are not specific to any single field.
The Verbal and Quantitative sections are each scored on a scale of 260 to 340, while the Analytical Writing section is scored separately on a scale of 1 to 6.
In the GRE Revised General Test, the Analytical Writing section always appears first, while the remaining five sections can be presented in any order.
One of the key advantages of the revised GRE is the flexibility it offers—you can move freely forward and backward within any section during the test.
